Luke Shaw has looked a player reborn at Manchester United in recent months.
The former Southampton man broke back into the team’s starting XI before the 2022 World Cup after a difficult start to the season.
Shaw excelled for England out in Qatar and he’s continued the rich vein of form since returning to club duty.
The 27-year-old actually played as a left-sided centre-back in United’s wins over Nottingham Forest and Wolverhampton Wanderers, helping the team achieve two clean sheets in the process.
Shaw was restored to his favoured left-back role against Bournemouth on Tuesday evening and once again, he dropped a top-quality display.
The marauding defender even chipped in with a rare goal at Old Trafford – and it was an absolute beauty.
No, it wasn’t a 30 yard screamer or a solo run from deep. Instead, it was a perfectly-crafted team goal, one which proves that manager Erik ten Hag is working wonders at the club.
The football from United – Shaw in particular – was quick, slick and clinical. The passing and movement was simply too much to handle for Bournemouth.
Shaw was at the centre of it all, making key contributions in both halves during the sweeping passage of play.
And his right-footed finish from Alejandro Garnacho’s pass was worthy of an elite-level striker.

What did Shaw say after Man Utd 3-0 Bournemouth?
Speaking to BBC Sport after the game, Shaw discussed the change in atmosphere at Old Trafford in recent times.
“The strides we are taking are going in the right direction that we want,” he said.
“There is still a lot to improve on but things are looking really good and positive and we feel like the belief and confidence is back, and you can feel it around the place, not just with the players and the staff but you can feel it in the stadium and around the fans.
“Hopefully they are enjoying it at the moment but I feel there is a lot more to come and hopefully we can keep putting smiles on people’s faces.”
