Casemiro showed elite mentality after winning the Carabao Cup by having a go at Bruno Fernandes

Casemiro’s reaction at the final whistle after Manchester United beat Newcastle to win the Carabao Cup showed just how much it meant to him.

United claimed their first trophy for six years after a 2-0 victory over Newcastle at Wembley.

It was Casemiro who opened the scoring with a terrific header from Luke Shaw’s free kick.

Casemiro has proven to be a sensational signing for United after arriving from Real Madrid for around £70 million.

His arrival appears to have transformed the belief at Old Trafford with Erik ten Hag’s side still dreaming of an unprecedented quadruple after winning their first piece of silverware of the campaign.

He picked up the Man of the Match award for another superb performance in midfield.

When he arrived, there were several rival fans who claimed he was only joining the Red Devils for the money.

Well, his reaction after the final whistle will prove that certainly isn’t the case.

Despite winning five Champions Leagues and countless other trophies during his illustrious career, Casemiro celebrated the League Cup triumph like it was his first.

In the final seconds of the match, Bruno Fernandes had a glorious opportunity to make it 3-0. However, he saw his effort saved by Loris Karius as he ignored his teammates.

And Casemiro wasn’t going to let Bruno get away with it.

Minutes after the final whistle, Casemiro could be seen having a go at Bruno. It may have been tongue-in-cheek but it sums up Casemiro’s attitude. He’s a true winner.
