A skinhead Wayne Rooney going ballistic at a drop-ball has gone viral again & it’s just so wild
Wayne Rooney is one of the greatest footballers that the Premier League has ever seen.
The Englishman did some extraordinary things at both Everton and Manchester United.
But, like every footballer, Rooney was not without flaws.
One of his biggest problems was his temper. Rooney was prone to being wound up very easily on the football pitch.
And one of the most famous instances of the Englishman going wild was in 2008 in a match between Manchester United and Hull City.
United were leading 4-1 in their Premier League encounter, only for Hull to pull two goals back late on to set up a grandstand finish.
An already frustrated Rooney only got angrier after he missed a chance to score United’s fifth.
So, when a drop-ball was given, Rooney took his anger out on Hull’s players.
You could just sense carnage was about to ensue just before Rooney lined up for the drop-ball with George Boateng.
He proceeded kick Boateng in the shin before taking out Andy Dawson with a terrible challenge. Watch the moment below…

Rooney managed to escape with a yellow card. He was very lucky not to be sent off.
It’s almost certain that he would have been given his marching orders in today’s game, especially with VAR.

Rooney and Boateng react
Rooney reacted to the drop ball earlier this year.
He told SPORTbible: “Is that from the Hull game? I just think I was at a point where I was thinking, my hair was going and I just shaved it off. It was doing my head in. And that coincides with the tackle
“It pops up quite a bit,” he added. “My eight-year-old son said the other day that he loves skinhead Rooney… I think it was more bald Rooney than skinhead Rooney to be honest!”
Boateng spoke about the drop ball after the game.
“The referee didn’t know who should have possession, so I said to give it to United to give it back to our keeper. But Rooney didn’t want that. He wanted to compete for it. I said: ‘Fine, let’s do it’, then he lost it a bit,” Boateng said, per the Daily Mail.
“He’s a temperamental player who plays from the heart. Wayne is an outstanding player but he gets frustrated when things aren’t going right. You can’t take that out of him. It’s part of what makes him so determined to win. He’s got fire.”
