Alejandro Garnacho channelled his inner Neymar with a sensational touch on his full Manchester United debut on Thursday evening.

The Argentine, just 18, has shown glimpses of his talent in a handful of substitute appearances for United.

He was handed his first start for the Red Devils in their Europa League clash against Sheriff at Old Trafford.

The youngster’s talent was clear to see as he put in an exciting display in front of his own fans.

He wasn’t shy in running at defenders and created a number of chances for his teammates during his 79 minutes on the pitch.

Garnacho is not lacking in confidence at all and that was in full display in the 62nd minute.

A cross-field ball was played to Garnacho and the youngster stopped the ball dead with a trick that Neymar has pulled off numerous occasions in the past.

Garnacho then cut inside and, moments later, Bruno Fernandes set up Cristiano Ronaldo to score. Unfortunately, the Portuguese’s goal was ruled out for offside.

Just listen to the reaction from the Old Trafford crowd. They were clearly impressed with what they had seen.

United went on to win 3-0 and Paul Scholes and Owen Hargreaves were also highly complimentary of the United youngster after the match.

Hargreaves said of the teenager: “He was exceptional. He had real quality. He was direct and ran at defenders all the time. He had the stepovers, the tricks that had function. Cheeky little nutmeg. He had everything. was just missing a goal and an assist.

“I think overall, at 18 years old he was the most effective of all the front three players. I really enjoyed watching him. He’s definitely one for the future and for now, actually.”
