“It’s a challenge” – Ralf Rangnick on coaching Cristiano Ronaldo
Manchester United manager Ralf Rangnick has conceded that it is “a challenge” to be a coach of one of the greatest players of all time, Cristiano Ronaldo.
The Portugal international was not in the squad in the last weekend’s Manchester derby that led to the rumors surrounding his future at Old Trafford, However, the 37-year-old came up with his best performance in the Premier League since returning to Old Trafford, scoring a hat-trick in 3-2 victory against the Spurs.
Rangnick has heaped praise on the Portuguese forward for his effort, however, added that it’s “a challenge” managing a player of caliber.
“He can do it [get 70,000 people off their feet], but again he can also do it only with the team. A fantastic performance. It was not just the three goals today it was also he was part of the team when they were in possession of the ball.”
“It’s a challenge with a player like Ronaldo, but he showed today that he still has the quality to play for a club like Manchester United. He also has the quality to be part of the team, and if we want to be successful at the end of the season that’s what we need.”
Portuguese forward has now managed to found back of the net 18 times and provided three assists in 31 games for the Red Devils since making a return to Old Trafford last summer.
