The brilliant moment Speed was mugged off in public for asking where Cristinao Ronaldo is

Cristiano Ronaldo has millions upon millions upon millions of fans around the globe, but few of them are more passionate than YouTube star IShowSpeed.

The internet sensation makes no secret of his admiration for the Manchester United star, regularly expressing his love in front of millions on his livestreams and more often than not bashing Lionel Messi in turn.

And this week, Speed made the pilgrimage across the Atlantic Ocean to see Ronaldo play football with his own two eyes as United hosted Aston Villa in the Carabao Cup third round.

Did Speed watch Ronaldo play for Man Utd?

Only, there was one big problem: Ronaldo didn’t actually play in the game as he was ruled out of the match-day squad through illness.

Taking to Twitter to express his heartbreak at the news, Speed wrote: “i’m crying right now i flew all the way to manchester to see ronaldo and he not playing,” with a pair of crying emojis for good measure.

However, Speed’s trip across the pond wasn’t entirely in vain because he was still treated to a thoroughly entertaining match under the lights at Old Trafford as United ran away 4-2 victors.

And he watched Anthony Martial, Marcus Rashford, Bruno Fernandes and Scott McTominay find the back of the net in pretty glamorous style, too, taking his place in a box at the ‘Theatre of Dreams’ for the full VIP experience.

Plus, there was still plenty of viral content for Speed to mine without Ronaldo as he most amusingly mistook United legend Paddy Crerand for David Beckham, amongst other shenanigans.

Though, there’s now another clip of Speed doing the rounds from one of his livestreams that he might not be quite so happy to see go viral because it witnessed a joke being taken at the expense of his hero: Mr. Ronaldo.

What was the Ronaldo joke aimed at Speed?

Whilst out and about live-streaming on the streets of Manchester, Speed was up to his usual tricks by joking around and asking random members of the public where Ronaldo was.

Naturally, a lot of the replies were rather sheepish suggestions to try looking at Old Trafford, but it was the response of one particular person on the streets that was destined to become internet gold.

With the ever-animated Speed stopping the individual by saying: “Excuse me, mam. Where’s Ronaldo at?” the brilliantly witty and dry answer that he got in return was: “Six-yard box.”

You couldn’t write it, could you? And trust us when we say that the amusing exchange – which prompted an X-rated reply from Speed – is even more amusing in video form and you can check it out for yourselves down below:

What did the Ronaldo joke mean?

Now, obviously, the joke at play here concerns the social media narrative that Ronaldo only ever scores tap-ins and therefore Speed’s best bet of finding him would be to go to the area of the pitch where close-range goals are scored.

And while, of course, there’s only so much truth in those jokes with Ronaldo proving one of the greatest footballers of all time, no less, that doesn’t make the member of the public’s swift-thinking retort any less amusing.

We can only imagine that they must have been a Manchester City fan because the speed with which they fired back at Speed was enough to upstage even the world’s most famous influencer right now.
