Cristiano Ronaldo’s sister comes out swinging with passionate defence of CR7 on Instagram

Cristiano Ronaldo’s name is splattered across every back page in the world right now courtesy of his controversial interview with Piers Morgan.

In what was branded as the most explosive interview he’s ever given, the Manchester United star fired shots at everyone from Erik ten Hag to Wayne Rooney and Ralf Rangnick to Gary Neville ahead of the 2022 World Cup.

The full interview hasn’t even aired yet, but the comments which have already emerged caused furious debate amongst football fans across the globe.

How have people reacted to Ronaldo’s interview?

While many supporters are bitterly disappointed in Ronaldo and think that he’s let himself down, there is also a contingent of loyalists who have a lot of sympathy for the way the 37-year-old has been treated at Old Trafford.

Nevertheless, regardless of what the fans might think, it’s very clear that Ronaldo will be defended to the hilt by those in his close circle.

And the five-time Ballon d’Or winner can certainly rely upon the close support of his family because we’ve already seen this week that they’re not afraid to make their reassurance for him public.

With Ronaldo’s sibling, Elma dos Santos Aveiro, having already gone public with her backing of Ronaldo in a series of Instagram stories, his other sister has now been even more vocal with her own social media activity.

That’s because singer Katia Aveiro, who has something of a reputation for launching passionate defences of Ronaldo online, has made her feelings very clear about the reaction to her brother’s big interview.

What did Ronaldo’s sister say on Instagram?

In a lengthy Instagram post that even caught the eye of Morgan himself, Aveiro quipped that Ronaldo could simply ‘scratch his balls’ and walk off into the sunset because his legacy is already incredible enough.

According to a translation by the Daily Mail, Aveiro wrote in her post: “I’m glad your character and dignity don’t leave you. I feel sorry for people who live with their chins up pointing fingers as if they had built more than you.

“There are people who are like this: weak, untrue (I don’t even know if this word exists) but I’m not at all worried about it.

“Nowadays seeing someone take a stand, being brave, being safe is criticised, people drown in their own illusion, many of them live to see others walk, even the floor itself is afraid to step, because they are afraid of falling, poor things.

‘Nowadays it’s hard to find people like that, you had everything to keep silent. You don’t need to prove anything anymore, you built an empire from nothing, you already have a legacy for the next generations that nobody can take away from you.

“You could scratch your balls (yes I say it anyway ) and whistle to the side, ride your private jet wherever you want, you could take a ride in your 27-metre long boat and enjoy the days in the sun in the country you want.”

She added: “Everything you have (conquered with a lot of sweat) is a lot and it’s yours alone.

“You could and you can do anything you want, but once again you decide to be different and brave as few cowards are, to be an example of a man is to fight without fear of stains that easily disappear from the horizon, to be a man is not to give up on your ideals, to be a man is to show the truth is to face the sharks and keep swimming, (your children will be so proud of you), your end has not yet arrived, but these last years are exactly the same as the beginning… remember?

“Where they said, he’s not going to get anywhere, he’s not going to be anything in life, he speaks wrong, he’s weak, family of fragile and aimless people.

“They only those who know where they came from, know where they are going, and you my brother know well what you are made of. Congratulations on never deviating from your path, it was always you, and it will always be just you .

“No problem. You can handle it, you are unique, you are special. I’m so proud. Thanks bro.”

Look, it’s certainly a head-turning post, but at the end of the day, it’s clear that Aviero is very passionate about defending her brother and that’s only understandable.

What did Piers Morgan say about Ronaldo’s sister?

Morgan is certainly sympathetic to her argument, too, which is no small statement considering that he was the very man asking the questions during the big interview in question.

The Arsenal fan and TV presenter reacted to her post by tweeting: “Love Ronaldo’s sister… and she’s spot on, too.”

And although it’s not surprising that Ronaldo would find sympathy in his sister and such a vocal supporter in Morgan, it nevertheless goes to show that the United star’s interview hasn’t been met with universal condemnation.

We will, however, have to wait and see what it means for his career going forward. Who knows…
