Casemiro and Cristiano Ronaldo made sure to avoid stepping on Man City’s badge before derby

Cristiano Ronaldo showed respect to Manchester City before the Manchester derby on Sunday.

Manchester United and City are fierce rivals.

It’s fair to say that the two teams don’t like each other very much.

Ronaldo has done battle against City on a number of occasions and, as a Man United legend, could be forgiven for not liking Pep Guardiola’s side.

But he was caught on camera showing respect to City before the match.

Footage was taken of Ronaldo and Casemiro as they made their way into City’s stadium ahead of the match.

A Man City badge is printed on the floor at the entrance.

The 37-year-old spotted the logo and, in a show of respect, side-stepped to avoid stepping on it.

Casemiro was walking in front of Ronaldo and could also be seen walking around the Man City logo.

Ronaldo and Casemiro are not the first players that have done their best to avoid stepping on Man City’s logo.

Luis Suarez, who spent three years at Liverpool, returned to the Etihad Stadium with Atletico Madrid earlier this year.

The Uruguayan, as well as Ángel Correa and Rodrigo de Paul, were seen making their way onto the pitch at the Etihad Stadium.

After seeing Correa and De Paul about to walk on City’s badge, Suarez stopped them and instructed them to walk around it.
