Corinthians considering move for Man Utd forward Edinson Cavani
Manchester United experienced forward Edinson Cavani has been rumoured with a departure from Old Trafford in recent months and hosts of teams have been mentioned as a possible destination for the Uruguayan striker.
Corinthians president Duilio Monteiro Alves has revealed that he is keen on luring Uruguay international forward away from the Red Devils.
Cavani’s deal at Old Trafford is set to expire in the summer and he is open to joining any team for free after the end of the 2021/22 season.
Cavani will stay with the Red Devils for the rest of the season as Ralf Rangnick is impressed with him since joining the club.
Corinthians president Alves told Globo Esporte: “I have to look for the best in the world, I may not be able to, but I will try. I admitted that I went after Cavani and became a laughing stock.
“I said that I went after Neymar and became a laughing stock. Corinthians is much bigger than these guys. My obligation is to go after the best. Who thought Willian would be here?”
