Erik ten Hag keen to sign Ajax defender Lisandro Martinez
Manchester United’s new head coach Erik ten Hag is reportedly keen to bring Ajax defender Lisandro Martinez at Old Trafford ahead of the next season.
The 24-year-old defender has enjoyed a fine 2021-22 season for the Dutch giants, playing 37 games in all competitions and taking part in five goals.
Martinez still has more than three years left before his deal expires with Ajax, however, there has been rumours surrounding his future in recent weeks, with La Liga giants, Barcelona believed to be keen to bring him back to Camp Nou before the start of the 2022/23 season.
According to The Telegraph, there is also genuine interest from the Red Devils, with new head-coach, Ten Hag keen to sign the Argentina international alongside Jurrien Timber.
The report claims that Martinez could be available at €30m (£25.4m), he has scored once and provided three assists in 24 games during the team’s title-winning 2021-22 Eredivisie season, while he also featured eight times in UCL.
