Man Utd forward shot down talks about possible retirement
Manchester United striker Cristiano Ronaldo has rubbished rumours about his imminent retirement ahead of Portugal’s World Cup 2022 playoff final with North Macedonia.
The 37-year-old forward has managed to found the back of the net 18 times in 32 appearances across all tournaments for the 20-times English champions this month.
There have been rumours that Cristiano Ronaldo has struggled to adapt to the pace of the English top-tier amid his advancing years, however, the former Juventus and Real Madrid foward does not see himself hanging up his boots anytime soon.
“Who will decide my future will be me. If I feel like playing more, I will. I’m the boss, end of story,” Ronaldo told reporters at Portugal’s pre-game press conference.
The Portugues forward’s current deal with the Red Devils expires in the summer of 2023, however, he has reportedly decided to stay at the club for another campaign.
The five-time Ballon d’Or winning forward has played the full 90 minutes in Portugal’s playoff semi-final victory over Turkey and will aim to avoid going four matches without a goal for the national team on Tuesday evening.
