Man Utd set to make approach for 18-goals Napoli forward

Napoli striker Victor Osimhen has emerged as a summer transfer target for Manchester United, according to the reports.

The former Lille’s forward has enjoyed a prolific 2021-22 season in the Italian top-tier founding back of the net 18 times and providing six assists in 31 games across all competitions.

According to Corriere dello Sport, the 20-times English champions have identified the 23-year-old Napoli forward as one of their top targets in order to strengthen their offensive end this summer and have decided to make an approach as soon as the transfer window will be re-opened.

Osimhen has recently dropped a hint that he could remain at Napoli, after stating to the media that he hopes to work under Luciano Spalletti for “many more years”.

The 23-year-old forward is, however, believed to be interested by the opportunity to play in the English top-tier, with the Red Devils set to face competition from their arch-rivals Arsenal.

Osimhen, who is valued by Napoli at around £100m, has been contracted to Italian giants until 2025.
