Experienced Spanish playmaker Juan Mata who is on the course to hang his boots on the wall could reportedly be offered a coaching role by Man Utd in the summer.

The 33-year-old’s current deal with the Red Devils expires in June, and he is unlikely to sign an extension with the club, making only four appearances this campaign for Ralf Ragnick’s side.

Former Chelsea midfielder has not played a single minute of English top-tier football in 2021-22, with his last appearance on the pitch being against Middlesbrough in the FA Cup on February 4.

Rumors from Spain claim that teams from La Liga are believed to be interested in securing the services of Juan Mata on a free transfer ahead of the 2022-23 season.

However, according to The Sun, if Mata decides to retire United are ready to offer him a coaching job at the club.

Spaniard has scored 51 goals and registered 47 assists in 277 games for the Red Devils joining them from direct Premier League rivals, Chelsea in 2014.
