Marcus Rashford’s outrageous highlights vs Everton prove he’s the best player in England right now
Marcus Rashford completely ran the show during Manchester United’s 3-1 victory over Everton in the FA Cup – he could be the best player in England right now.
United increased the pressure on Toffees manager Frank Lampard with a professional victory at Old Trafford on Friday evening.
Rashford, who started the game, played a role in all three goals. The 25-year-old is on the best goalscoring run of his career, scoring in his last five games in all competitions.
It’s a massive turnaround compared to this time last year when Rashford looked to be struggling under interim manager Ralf Rangnick.
Best Moment:
Antony opened the scoring inside three minutes before a calamitous error from David de Gea allowed Conor Coady to equalise shortly after. Everton sat deep to contain United for the rest of the half, who tailed off. Rashford stepped up after the break to get United ahead once again. He received the ball out wide with Seamus Coleman too cared to engage. He drifted past the veteran full-back to put a low ball into the box. Coady stuck a desperate leg out, turning it into his own net. Expert wing-play.
Player Rating – 9/10:
United don’t win the game without Rashford, it’s as simple as that. With two assists and a penalty, you can’t have much more impact on an FA Cup game. Worth pointing out that Rashford has featured in all of the Red Devils’ games over Christmas. He’s on fire, no matter the competition right now.
Rashford moved central when Anthony Martial went off in the second half, which was a relief for Coleman. He did have Alejandro Garnacho up against him though. Out of the frying pan…
What was said about their performance?
Former United captain Roy Keane, who is very hard to please, watched the game for ITV. He admitted at full-time he wasn’t shocked by Rashford’s performance. Keane explained: “The beauty of tonight is that is what I expect from him.
“I’m not surprised by his performance tonight. He is becoming one of the main players for Manchester United. Can he get them back to competing for trophies?
“He is taking responsibility. I expect goals and assists from him every week now, he is obviously playing with confidence. He is going to go past you in one-on-one situations. You can’t be too critical of the Everton defenders.”

Overall verdict:
There were concerns regarding United’s options up front following Cristiano Ronaldo’s departure. One of Rashford or Martial would be forced to become the main focal point, with Antony still adapting to English football and Jadon Sancho unavailable right now.
Rashford’s seized the opportunity with two hands. He’s the first player to score in seven home games in a row for United since Wayne Rooney in 2012. The England international is back in love with football and everyone inside Old Trafford is back in love with him.
